State of Drupal Business in Europe

17. September 2011 - Vesa Palmu

After talking to a very large number of Drupal professionals all over Europe I know that state of Drupal business varies a lot from country to country. Availability and demand for experienced professionals, size and type of companies and prices definitely vary a lot. This is also apparent if you look at market shares of "the big three" in each European country. I already have a lot of information about these regional differences and before writing more about them I decided to do a survey for European Drupal shops. Questions for the survey are partially based on the survey Liza Kindred from Lullabot did in US market early 2010.

The survey is very short and it has two parts: Basic company information and pricing. I know that some companies might consider pricing questions in this survey sensitive and in most cases I could identify the company based on their answers. For this reason I left the pricing questions voluntary so it's also possible to only reply about basic company information. To keep some of this data confidential I will not publish the full data set from this survey, only regional statistics. I hope to get enough pricing information for each region to get some statistically relevant results on price differences between countries.

Taking the survey takes maximum of five minutes. Please spread the word about it and hopefully in late October I will have very interesting statistics to share with you!

If you have any comments or questions feel free to contact me at vesa palmu at mearra com.
